So we skipped day 7 because we didn't do anything except go to church. :)
Day 8 we went to the Washington D.C. area. The first place we went was Arlington National Cemetery. Adrienne and I remember this from our family vacation a while back, but the little kids didn't... they really enjoyed it too. Jyll Jonnee was the only one who didn't quite understand it all and had alot of questions. This place is so moving and amazing. And the headstones just go on for miles and miles.
Next, we got there just in time to see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
See that 2nd headstone says Weaver!
The JFK memorial... eternal flame.
Waiting for the metro....
The Capitol... since we only went for one day we didnt get to see many of the memorials like we wanted to.
Washington Monument.
Smithsonian's...
Trying to find the subway...
This was the IRS
And below... we went to the holocaust museum. The most amazing and moving place I've ever been!
