Mt. Baldy

Since Michaela came to stay with me after my graduation on Sunday (pics of that coming SOON!) We took her to some famous places. :) She's never been out in the country much and has never been to the Dunes. Naturally we had to take her to Mt. Baldy! For those of you who don't know, Mt. Baldy is an enormous living sand dune. You used to be able to hike it to the top, but since it is growing and deteriorating from people climbing it, they don't allow that anymore. Instead you can take a trail to the beach or climb a really hard trail next to the summit of Mt. Baldy. The summit was closed due to bad weather before... so we took the trail to the beach.  :)
Gramma and Adrienne on the parking lot side of Mt. Baldy. The greenery behind the sign behind them is actually a tree that has been covered by the dune.
Hiking up and down the trail to the beach.
The parents and grandparents were always close behind us... :)

The beautiful view we saw when we got there! It was so clear we could see the Chicago skyline.

 Made it to the top!!!
Writing in the sand... so much fun.
A picture with Gramma and Grampa. :) I'm so blessed with these amazing people as my Grandparents!!!
I love this picture of me and Michae!
 Mom and Dad...

So this is Mt. Baldy from the other side! HUGE
 Running across the shore line...

 Taking the stairs back...
The trail to and from is so beautiful, filled with lots of natural plants and wildlife.
sorry for the quality of the picture...
