Yesterday, we went up to Michigan to see the house that my Uncle built in his Construction Trades class. Mind you, this is a high school class. They did such an excellent job, and it was an emotional day for a lot of people.
The foundation
The crane that lifted the house was able to lift like 34 tons!
Here is a beautiful and amazing park that my Uncle built two years ago with his class.
Bringing in the house sections.
This is Jewel Daily. It was such an emotional day for her. She was crying all day, but her story was amazing. She was addicted to Meth for 14 years and she has now been off of it for 3. She promised her kids that one day she would get them a real home. This was her dream come true.
Uncle Chris and one of his students taking off the plastic.
The first side touches ground!!
Bringing over the second side.
Everyone watches. It was such a neat experience.
Uncle Chris fitting the pieces together. We are all so proud of him... he did an amazing job!!
Papa explained to Luke (and the rest of us) most of the time what they were doing.
FINISHED!!
Jewel and Uncle Chris listen the spokes person for Habitat for Humanity tell about what they do.
Jewel gets teary-eyed as she tells everyone her amazing story.
Uncle Chris, Jewel and most of Chris's class that helped build it.
The students presenting her with the hammer and plaque.
The team each places a hand on the hammer!
The picture above isn't very good, but it shows the amazing cabinet work that my Uncle and his class did.
