Making Ressurection Cookies and Coloring Eggs

Saturday night we made ressurection cookies. Mom read us the story and the bible passages that go along with each ingredient.

Adrienne put the pecans in the bag.
Jyll, Luke and Brooke all took turns beating the pecans (to represent how the Roman soldiers beat Jesus)

Steph  poured the salt and everyone tasted the salt to represent Jesus' salty tears.
The girls were tasting the vinegar here... no one liked this part. Eww. It represented how the soliders gave Jesus vinegar to drink on the cross.
 Dad poured the vinegar.
 Steph started whipping the mixture....
But then we decided to put in into the actual mixer. :)
 All put on the tray.
 Luke "sealing the tomb".

 Jyll sealing her tomb...
 Brooke sealing her part.
In the morning we were allowed to unseal the tomb and cut open the cookies... the center was empty and it represented that Jesus is no long in the tomb, but is risen for us!
(somehow this picture got out of order...)
 Mom coloring her egg...
Jyll really enjoyed coloring eggs and dipped it in every possible color! :)

Dad doing his egg.... he's really good at this! :)
Here is Dad's finished product... we all agreed that he won the egg coloring contest.
 All of our eggs.

Waiting for mom and dad to hide the eggs.

How can you resist this adorableness???
 Looking, looking, looking...

Steph was the second one to find everything. :)
